Seasons Change

Seasons Change

If you are finding yourself freezing lately in the early morning and wondering where the heck are the hats that you put away last March, you are not alone.

Why is it we are generally surprised when the season really changes into Fall?  Probably because September is a bit of a tease: super hot one day, refreshingly cool another. By the time mid October comes around, many are just blindsided by the cold; it comes quick. It isn’t agony like the winter-to-spring transition can be in these parts. Rather, it just arrives and all of a sudden we find ourselves searching for layers.

The shifting of seasons to Fall can be introspective: the pairing down, the preparing. It is harder to arise from the warm bed. Talk of hearty soups and sturdy boots arise amongst the chatter. The summer days are over now, without the heart strain they once had just a few weeks ago at the gateway of autumn.

That is the beauty of living in places of change: we glide through ready for the next subconsciously. All in good time… all somehow unbeknownst to those among it.
